Hi everyone! So if you follow any of my social media then you know that I dyed my hair ombre'. I wanted a change and definitely wanted to dye my hair a bit lighter. But I was a bit nervous that going lighter would destroy my hair! Luckily Nexxus contacted me about trying out their Color Assure system. Basically the Color Assure system in a four step process that protects your hair from water damage and keeps your color vibrant for longer. I am a huge fan!
I tried it for three weeks and my hair was soft and smooth, super easy to do, and the color was perfect. Obviously when you first wash your hair after dyeing it the leftover color still washes out for the first few washes. Usually after about the first week my hair ends up being the perfect color and I am always so bummed when it starts to fade. So, after trying it out, my hair has yet to fade or start to damage. The key is in the pre-wash primer! That is what locks out the water damage and keeps your color vibrant! I have heard on different occasions how bad water can be for your hair; how minerals can build up leaving it extra dry resulting in a lot more breakage. The pre-wash primer is sulfate free, enriched with coconut, almond, arogon oil, and white orchird extract. The white orchird extract is what repels the water! Isn't that such a genius idea??
The only thing I would recommend is that you don't use it right before bed. Sleeping on it wet resulted in it being a lot greasier in the morning, but anytime I let it air dry or blow dried it, it lasted me for a few days. Which is perfect, since I tend to only wash my hair every three or four days. I also recommend paying attention to how much they tell you to use. Don't use too much, otherwise that can leave it greasy as well! I wanted to counter test it so I went to my other shampoo and conditioner for the past week and my hair has been SO DRY. Obviously I was expecting a little dryness from going lighter, but the difference from when I was using the Color Assure system to my regular shampoo and conditioner was like night and day. Overall, if you use the recommended amount and don't sleep with wet hair, I HIGHLY recommend it!

So I am a huge fan of E.L.F. makeup. It is so completely affordable and they have the best makeup brushes around. They even have acne fighting foundation, so if you have skin like mine then you can still use it! Now that is a plus, because sometimes my Dermablend can be expensive so it is good to have an alternative. I picked out my favorite starter kits, brushes, and foundations for you below.
Alright, lets talk tanning. I completely avoid tanning beds because hello.....cancer! I am going to avoid getting it as best as I can. And if there are that many warnings and proven facts that it causes cancer then I am definitely avoiding it. I know that almost everybody looks better with a little color, especially me. I took some pictures this winter in some dresses and oh my goodness were my legs transparent!! So I did a little research on some tanning lotions and I came across Xen-Tan. Their lotions give you such a natural (orange-free) tan, not to mention they have a ton of beneficial ingredients in it! So I decided to give it a try, and I am totally hooked! The thing I love about it is that you can see it go on, which means streaks are totally avoidable and the smell is great! The other plus is that if you apply it with your hands it is super easy to wash off, and it doesn't stain your hands. It is a perfect filler before your summer tan starts to come in! I tried the Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe with the Face Tanner Luxe, and I definitely recommend it to everybody! so do yourself a favor and get yourself some......it is totally worth it!
Okay, so this post is for those of you who have acne prone and suuuuuper sensitive skin! If you are like me, then face makeup makes your face break out like crazy making you not even want to wear makeup. I have tried so many different kinds and each time by the end of the night I have pimples, or it makes my face to oily, etc. I tried bare minerals for years and to be honest, I hated it. There has only been one foundation this I have relied on for the past couple years, and that is Dermablend. First of all, it is NEVER the cause of a breakout on my face. Second, it makes my face so smooth and it is such an even blend! It is not only a great foundation for acne prone skin, it is just a great foundation in general. It truly works miracles. There is actually a video on their webpage of a man covered in tattoos from head to toe wearing their makeup and you can't see a single tattoo. Check out their website and view some of their videos to see what I am talking about. Do any of you guys wear Dermablend? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
