My sis Colleen has played for three years in Adelaide, so she has been a wonderful tour guide. On one of the first off days we had, we decided to take a day trip up to Deep Creek near Second Valley. Our roommate Kayla, and Colleen's teammate Noodle and her fiancé Cody joined us.
Let's talk the hike : it is HARD. Luckily we went when it was a bit cooler out back in October, so the weather was pretty good. It's not a crazy long hike, but it is steep. The way down is easy but the way up kills you haha. Luckily, there are 500 kangaroos hopping around that give you an excuse to stop, catch your breath, and check them out. You can camp there or just go for the day. The beach at the bottom of the hike is my favorite part, we had the entire thing to ourself. Sadly, it wasn't warm enough to actually go in the water. Cody had his drone and took some pretty sweet aerial shots, and there is even a cliff area that you can climb around on!
The drive there from Adelaide had some incredible views of the countryside. At one point we took a wrong turn, because Colleen swore she remembered where it was and we got lost.....But it did lead us to the most incredible views on top of the cliffs, overlooking the oceanside. You lose service on your phone, so it'd be a good idea to map out where to go exactly before you get there. We just had a normal car, but you can skip the hike altogether if you have a four wheel drive.

"Travel early and travel often. Live abroad, if you can. Understand cultures other than your own. As your understanding of other cultures increases, your understanding of yourself and your own culture will increase exponentially."
